In honor of Earth Day, we’ve gathered some eco-friendly tips for sustainable travel while staying at one of our Best Western® Hotels & Resorts. Traveling sustainably is great for the environment, and there’s a few simple things you can do to make your environmental footprint smaller while you travel.

Bring your own water bottle

At Best Western® Hotels & Resorts, you will have access to water in the lobby, convenience store area (at select locations), etc. Instead of using paper cups repeatedly, bringing your own water bottle can reduce waste immensely, especially if you have more than one member of your family traveling with you.

Go paperless

Why not take advantage of living in a digital age? Request that your receipts be emailed to you, instead of printing paper copies. This will help reduce paper waste.

Limit housekeeping

At Best Western® Hotels & Resorts, housekeeping is always an option, but if you’re practicing sustainable travel, simply leaving a “Do Not Disturb” sign will notify staff to respect your room. For shorter stays, this is especially advantageous and limits unnecessary washing of linens and towels.

Bring your own toiletries

While toiletries will be provided with your stay, bringing your own toiletries will lessen the use of disposable bottles and packaging that provided toiletries come in. You can also choose to bring eco-friendly toiletries in bulk, versus single using single use toiletries.

Stay at an eco-friendly hotel

While Best Western® Hotels & Resorts properties try our best to be eco-friendly, a few of our properties rise above the rest in going above and beyond in this area. Below are two hotel spotlights that guarantee an eco-friendly experience.
