If you’re looking for a vacation with a mix of city, water and mountains, you need to visit Burlington, Vermont. An adventure is never far, whether you’re paddleboarding on Lake Champlain or trying a new brewery. Here are five things you can’t miss on your trip:

Explore the City Life

Church Street is a vibrant street lined with many local shops and restaurants. It’s a pedestrian-only street, so you can take your time as you stroll through. Walk under the overhanging banners and stop at the local businesses that catch your eye. You’ll hear live music and spot many patios as you walk through. I recommend going here early evening to get the whole experience of this street.

You can also head under some twinkle lights to City Hall Park. The illuminated fountain is sure to catch your eye. You’ll often catch live music here. Sit at one of the colourful patio sets and soak it all in.

Another great area to explore is Winooski. You’ll find cute shops, cafes, breweries and restaurants. Grab a coffee at Scout & Co., and then visit Golden Hour, the perfect spot to get a cute souvenir.

Enjoy the Waterfront

Whether walking the boardwalk, paddleboarding or enjoying a drink at Splash at the Boathouse, make sure to block off some time to enjoy Burlington’s waterfront. You’ll get a stunning view of Lake Champlain and the mountains in the distance. This is also an excellent spot for sunset.

While you’re near the waterfront, stop in for a brew at Foam Brewers.

Stroll Through Battery Park

This is a beautiful park on the waterfront. Walk through overhanging trees and find a spot to soak in the sunset. Many locals and tourists will find a spot to sit and enjoy the sunset. This would be a great spot to take food to go and enjoy a picnic. There’s no shortage of great sunset spots in Burlington.

Shelburne Farms

This spot came highly recommended by locals and visitors. Shelburne Farms is an educational nonprofit where you can learn about the farm. Take a tractor to the main farmhouse; you can see cheese-making, explore the trails and gardens, and visit the wood shop. The grounds are beautiful. Hike the Lone Tree Hill Trail for a panoramic view of Lake Champlain and the mountains.

Mount Philo

Only 20 minutes from downtown Burlington, get a panoramic view from the top of Mount Philo. Take the scenic route and hike up or the fast route and drive to the top. Once you make it to the top, take a seat in one of the Adirondack chairs and admire the view.

Burlington, Vermont, is a beautiful city with so much to offer. It’s the perfect mix of enjoying city life and a nature adventure that is never far. Best Western Plus Windjammer Inn & Conference Center is the perfect spot to land after a day of exploring.

Get some delicious seafood dishes (especially the lobster escargot) at Windjammer Restaurant. They have a beautiful patio

Make sure to save some time for swimming in the indoor or outdoor pools! The beautiful gardens also caught my eye. Grab a seat nearby and enjoy your morning coffee.

The Best Western Plus Windjammer Inn & Conference Center team was a huge help in mapping out things to do in the area and activities we couldn’t miss! Now it’s your turn to enjoy all Burlington, Vermont, has to offer!
