After traveling to Arizona for some sunshine and warmer weather, the next stop of our #roadtrippin tour of North America sent us to Utah so we could embrace winter while creating our next video. We love winter activities and always dive headfirst into as many cold weather adventures as possible.
Dogsledding was the first item to check off our list, and we made our way to the Stillman Ranch in Oakley, Utah. We were fortunate to have Greg Sellentin as our guide. Greg is a veteran dog musher and the owner and creator of the international Mushing Magazine. This guy knows the ins and outs of the dog sledding world, and it was a treat to get a peek behind the scenes and learn about his crazy experiences around the world.
After some quality time cuddling with the adorable baby pup on site, we made our way to Park City for some lunch at the No Name Saloon Bar and Grill. If you find yourself in the area, give their buffalo burgers a try—you won’t regret it!
Next up on the agenda was tubing at Gorgoza Park. We spent the afternoon flying down the hills while laughing non-stop. It was so much fun, and if you link your tubes together with another person, you go even faster than you do on your own.
To end the night, we made our way over to the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup Event where we watched the mogul finals. It was so exciting to see the skiers fly over the moguls and do flips and tricks over the jumps.
Our next day started out snowmobiling through the mountains. The further we drove, the snowier it got and before we knew it, we were blazing the trail through a beautiful, fresh layer of snow. Just as we decided it was time to head back to the car, we ran into a few locals who were snowboarding behind their snowmobile. We found out they were on their way to kite board through the snow, aka snowkiting, so we had to stay and check it out—it was pretty amazing to watch.
To finish out yet another adventurous day, we made our way to Sundance Mountain Resort for some time on the slopes. Micah and the others we were with went snowboarding while I stuck to skiing. Our hills in Minnesota are tiny compared to the intimidating mountains in Utah, so I figured it might not be the best place to give snowboarding a try for the first time! The fresh powder of Park City’s snow provided a great time for us all on the mountain.
We packed so many activities into just a few days, but we had such an amazing time on this year long #roadtrippin tour stop. Our favorite events had to be the dog sledding and snowmobiling, but we would do it all again in a heartbeat!
If cold weather activities aren’t your style, then make sure you check out the previous video on #roadtrippin tour where we visited Arizona. There are many more adventures in the works this year, so make sure to check back soon for our latest #roadtrippin installment.
