Where to Hike in Arches National Park

You and your friends can’t go to Arches National Park without seeing this arch – this famous arch that everyone knows and thinks about when they think of Utah, the one and only Delicate Arch – and it is a must-do when visiting Arches National Park. Though Arches National Park has over 2,000 natural arches, the Delicate Arch towers at nearly 50 feet high and 32 feet wide, seemingly defying gravity. Afterwards, hit the Park Avenue Trail. Aptly named after Park Avenue in New York City, the trail contains sweeping views of nature’s “skyscrapers,” and they are a stunning display. End the day with an easy hike on the Windows Primitive Loop. These picturesque North and South Windows (also known as The Spectacles) are even more spectacular during sunrise or sunset.

Things to do by Arches National Park

Nearby Canyonlands National Park is the largest national park in Utah and is worth the short drive, located only 30 minutes from your Best Western Plus Canyonlands Inn. Explore hikes in either the Island in the Sky or the Needles regions – both offer geological features and scenic viewpoints to enjoy.

Another fun activity is a guided whitewater rafting tour on the Colorado River, which has a range of Class I-IV rapids to match your comfort and thrill level. If you need more placid water activities, you can also rent kayaks or paddle boards to explore the Colorado River at your own pace.

Finally, if you time your trip right, you and your friends can participate in the Canyonlands Half Marathon and 5-Mile Run. Started in 1976, the running route features epic views parallel to Arches National Park and the Colorado River. The red rock formations are everywhere, and it will sure be a run to remember.
