Nova Scotia is for lobster lovers, and when we say ‘lobster lovers,’ we mean it. For the entire month of February, Nova Scotia hosts a Lobster Crawl, boasting over 70 lobster-themed events that will satisfy your lobster-loving heart’s desires. We’ve rounded up a few lobster-themed experiences you won’t soon forget on your next trip to Nova Scotia.

Yarmouth, Nova Scotia

A trip to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia is not complete without a visit to Rudder’s Seafood Restaurant & Brew Pub. Located near downtown Yarmouth, this seafood venue serves up Hot Lobster Rolls and Lobster Poutine that will fill your stomach and heart’s content. Rudder’s also brews their beers on site, so pair your meal with a Blonde Rock or a Rudder’s Red to pair with all that delicious lobster.

Take a short trip to Barrington, the Lobster Capital of Canada. They’ve been catching and selling lobsters since the 1800’s and even build a Christmas tree out of lobster traps during the holidays! Check out Capt. Kat’s Lobster Shack. Their motto is “Got Lobstah?” and they have everything from Lobster Fondue to Stuffed Lobster Tail.

There are so many food options to choose from in the foodie city of Halifax! Located right on the Atlantic Ocean, you’ll want waterfront dining, at least once during your stay. Waterfront dining, at its best can be found at Salty’s Bar and Grill. Whether you decide to sit downstairs or in the more, posh ambience upstairs, ordering the Lobster Roll is a must-do when dining at Salty’s.

If you’re searching for more Lobster Rolls, head over to Dave’s Lobster. With Lobster Rolls done “The Local” way or “Some Fancy,” you can’t go wrong with either hot or cold lobster – or both! Try the Lobster Tacos or Lobster Grilled Cheese to mix up your plate and get your lobster lovin’ heart pumping.

Conversely, if you’re looking for a decadent lobster dish and upscale dining, look no further than the 5 Fisherman Restaurant. The restaurant is in a building that used to be a schoolhouse, built in 1817 and has a spooky history of hauntings. You’ll forget all about its haunted history once you dive into the Lobster Thermidor, a delicious dish which includes cognac, rosemary potatoes and gruyere.
