Whether you are a nature lover or craft beer enthusiast, New Brunswick has something for everyone to enjoy.

With a Best Western Hotel and Resort to call home base, here are several must-sees in New Brunswick to add to your itinerary:

Go into town

Moncton

One of the largest cities in New Brunswick, Moncton is a historical city with strong French roots. The city’s personality and historical presence are reflected throughout the city in murals and public art, to name a few. And a short distance away from the city limits are some of the region’s best nature spots. Take an hour’s drive to explore Fundy National Park and its many waterfalls, from Third Vault Falls, Dickson Falls to Herring Cove Falls. And be sure to visit the park’s shores at Hopewell Rocks, where you can walk on the ocean floor.

Saint John

If you enjoy history, you’ll love Saint John. With history at every corner, you’ll find something new to uncover at every step. Enjoy a more traditional museum setting at the New Brunswick Museum or experience the Big Pink Bus tours for a new way to discover the city. And you can’t visit without experiencing the Saint John City Market. A staple to the town, visitors can find local food, coffee, souvenirs, and more.

Fredericton

Did you know Fredericton – the provincial capital – ranks amongst the most taprooms per capita in Canada, with one taproom per 5,400 people? So, you can sip your way through craft beer and craft cider taprooms for a taste of what New Brunswick does best. And if you are into mountain biking, Fredericton is the town for you with nine trails to choose from and explore.

Get outside

Parlee Beach Provincial Park

Grab the kids, pack some snacks, and head to Parlee Beach. The beach has the warmest salt water in Canada and provides peace and solitude from the shores, but it isn’t too far from shopping centers, restaurants, and boutiques, including the World’s Largest Lobster sculpture.

Mount Carleton Provincial Park

More than 42,000 acres of pristine Acadian woods and mountain peaks make up Mount Carleton Provincial Park. Hike up Mount Carlton – the highest peak – at nearly 3,000 feet for breathtaking views, or challenge yourself by hiking up Mount Sagamook, which sits at 2,549 feet tall. There is also a wheel-chair accessible trail at Williams Falls.

Things to do

  • At Kings Landing, you won’t have to imagine life 200 years ago – you’ll be able to experience it. Experience all things 19th-century New Brunswick as you pitch in to help keep the village running. Plus, visit the livestock or take a ride on one of the horse and wagon rides.
  • Take a day trip to Grand Manan Island, where the whole family can whale watch, visit galleries and museums, hike or cycle, and catch glimpses of the region’s miraculous wildlife, including Atlantic puffins. We recommend seeing sunrise at Swallow Trail Lighthouse or sunset at Long Eddy Point Lighthouse.
