Southern Italy’s Amalfi Coast is  the most famous and spectacular Italian coastline, packed with fantastic sites and attractions. If you’re a swimmer then there’s no better place for you, with idyllic blue waters and beautiful beaches, you will certainly be in your element on the Amalfi Coast. Picturesque villages such as Positano rise up among the cliffs from the sea, giving the most beautiful views. Taking a boat ride is the best way to see the coast and visit the enchanting islands of Capri, Ischia and the colorful Procida and the village of Sorrento, known as the town of lemons, a coastal town perched atop cliffs that separate the town from its busy marinas.

Ligurian Coastline

Italy’s Liguria region, also known as the Italian Riviera, is a crescent-shaped strip of Mediterranean coastline extending from Ventimiglia to the Gulf of Poets north of Tuscany. The Italian Riviera offers limitless experiences throughout all the charming and accessible seaside villages. To make the most of this stretch of Ligurian coastline, make sure you explore Genoa, one of Italy’s big port cities, and some of the best luxury destinations like Portofino and Santa Margherita Ligure, as well as its lesser-known smaller gems such as Rapallo, Camogli, Chiavari, Lavagna and Sestri Levante.

In Sicily, nature is a dream you can experience with your eyes open, a fairy tale that becomes reality. Up in the north of Sardinia, Alghero attracts visitors for its historic ramparts and seafood suppers, but also for its beaches. The hilltop castle quarter sits high above the harbor and the rest of the city, affording excellent views. Cagliari is blessed with one of the best city beaches in Europe, the gorgeous Poetto beach, is 8km of wide lagoon beach with fine sands. Castelsardo, on the island’s northern coast, is also a remarkably well-maintained piece of a history that dates back to the Nuragic civilization. Remnants of that ancient legacy can be found in the area, in the region’s signature nuraghe ruins. Whatever you wish, Sardinia is the right choice.
