Perth, Ontario in Christmas

Perth is one of Ontario’s prettiest towns, and there’s something special about visiting at Christmas. You’ll feel like you’re in your own Christmas movie as you wander the streets lined with heritage buildings and see the decorated storefronts.

The Best Western Perth Plus Parkside Inn & Spa was the perfect spot to call home for the weekend. The hotel was beautifully decorated for the holidays, and everything was within walking distance.

Here are five things you need to do on your trip:

Explore the Local Businesses

There are over 100 local shops and restaurants in Perth. From trendy clothing, home goods, and delicious restaurants, make sure to carve out some time to explore them. They also had festive storefronts for the holidays.

Make sure to head inside Code’s Mill. It’s an old building across from Stewart Park and home to many fun businesses like Blackfly Grub Hub and Perth Chocolate Works.

Where to Dine

  • Go to Kothu Labs if you’re craving some Sri Lankan specialties. I recommend getting their Kothu.
  • The Locks has a grand dining room with huge windows that are perfect for watching the snow fall. I recommend getting their Locks Burger.
  • Rocky River Cafe has fun comfort dishes like pierogi grilled cheese.
  • The Stone Cellar Restaurant is the perfect spot if you want a fancier meal, and they have a wonderful wine list.
  • Mex & Co is right beside the Tay River. Enjoy Mexican cuisine and admire the bright colours and festive decorations while you’re inside

Crystal Palace Trees

Crystal Palace is home to lots of themed Christmas trees for the holidays. Walk around the exterior of the glass building at night to see the trees illuminated. I loved walking around and admiring all the different decorations. Nearby, you’ll also spot the Community Christmas Tree with ornaments donated by the community.

Find the Hidden Alleyway Cafe

Warm-up with a holiday drink or hot chocolate at this hidden cafe. Located beside Fall River Fashion, walk through the alleyway adorned with twinkle lights, and you’ll find their hidden cafe at the end. I loved the festive decorations out front, and it was the perfect spot to warm up, enjoy a hot drink and one of their truffles.

Walk Through Stewart Park

No trip to Perth is complete without a visit to Stewart Park. This stunning park is picturesque every season. It’s a popular spot for wedding photos, and once you’ve visit, you’ll know exactly why. I always love crossing the burgundy bridge for a view of Code’s Mill across the water.

The Best Western Perth Plus Parkside Inn & Spa has Stewart Park as its backyard. I loved waking up to this view each morning. Right when I thought it couldn’t get any better, we woke up to a fresh coat of snow covering the park.

Enjoy A Drink By The Fire

There’s nothing like warming up by the fire after a day of exploring. Both The Stone Cellar Restaurant and The Locks have cozy fires that were great spots to unwind.

The best part about cozying up in The Locks is that it’s inside the Best Western Plus Perth Parkside Inn & Spa. The restaurant is decorated beautifully for the holidays as well.

I hope this helps fuel your own Christmas trip to Perth. You’ll be sure to have a fantastic time exploring this stunning city.
