Winnipeg Comedy Festival, Winnipeg, Manitoba  

May 2nd –  May 7th 2023 

To kick start our Canadian festival tour, you must head to Winnipeg for the fantastic annual Winnipeg Comedy Festival. Brainchild of CBC Radio’s Tom Anniko and comedian Lara Rae, this yearly event is the jewel in the Canadian comedy circuit’s crown. 

Broadcast live on CBC Radio One, the Winnipeg Comedy Festival also transitions into a series of television shows featured on CBC Television and The Comedy Network. July 7th – July 16th 2023 

As one of Canada’s oldest festivals, The Calgary Stampede draws visitors to this famous Alberta city to celebrate Calgary’s western culture and heritage. Here you can watch as competitors battle it out in the rodeo and chuckwagon racing events or relax and enjoy this Canadian festival’s parade, concerts, and stage shows. 

Starting back in 1886 as the Calgary Exhibition, it soon transformed into the Calgary Stampede in 1912. Designed to boost the Calgary economy and promote agricultural and ecosystem management, the festival proved popular with guests and locals. First established in 1497, St John’s is one of North America’s oldest cities, and George Street is the premier entertainment district in this historic town.

Grey Cup Festival, Hamilton, Ontario 

November 19th 2023 

Sports fans, don’t think we’ve forgotten you. As part of our celebrations of Canadian festivals, it would be rude not to include the high point of the Canadian Football League (CFL) diary. 2023 sees the city of Hamilton host the CFL Championship game and 110th Grey Cup, where divisional winners from the East and West clash for the CFL title. 

Held at Tim Hortons Field, this is the twelfth time Hamilton has hosted the Gray Cup at a stadium that also boasts Canada’s largest videoboard and outdoor bar onsite. Yukon Rendezvous Festival, Whitehorse, Yukon 

February 9th– February 25th 2024
